Newsletter #27:
"What Do These Words Even Mean?"
"What Do These Words Even Mean?"
DATE: October 11, 2024
Friend —
Democracy? Freedom? Choice?
When I see these words displayed on Democratic yard signs, I can’t help but wonder what they really mean.
How can someone stand for “democracy” while supporting a presidential nominee, handpicked by elites, without a single primary vote?
How can someone claim the banner of “freedom” while backing government censorship of fellow citizens?
How can someone support “choice” while forcing medical interventions on us and our families?
To quote one of my family’s favorite movies, “The Princess Bride”:
“You keep using that word.
I do not think it means what you think it means.”
That’s why, in front of a largely Democrat audience at the League of Women Voters Candidate Forum, I challenged this narrative hypocrisy — warning about the dangers of falling to emotionally-driven political deceptions.
It can happen to any of us. It happened to me.
I shared my story of being duped sixteen years ago, as a student in my 20s, when I pulled a Democrat ballot.
Of course, I learned from my mistake when I saw the Democrats, during the Obama Presidency, continue all the policies they had spoken against — including forever wars and the erosion of our civil liberties.
I quickly saw through the lies and that’s why I became a proud America First Republican.
And because I discovered the truth, I maintain hope that — through frank and honest conversations — our Democrat neighbors might someday see it as well.

Now that we are in the final sprint to Election Day, there is no time to waste meeting and hearing from the voters.
That’s why we have two events coming up next week — and I hope you can join us for food, refreshments, and an opportunity to share your thoughts on the issues that matter most.
Monday and Thursday next week, please join me for events with Rep. Steve Demetriou in Bainbridge and Rep. Sarah Arthur Fowler in Claridon.
Join Carolyn with Ohio Representatives Steve Demetriou and Sarah Fowler Arthur at meet-and-greet events on Monday and Thursday, next week.
Did you know that early voting has already begun?
With assassination attempts, palace coups, and raging hurricanes, who knows what could happen between now and Election Day, November 5th, to stop you from voting?
That’s why many people are voting early to make sure their voices are heard — and that includes me (see video below).
You can also vote early at the Geauga County Board of Elections located at 470 Center St, Building 6A, Chardon, OH 44024.
Carolyn casts her ballot on the first day of early voting.
With early voting taking place and Election Day only four weeks away, my Democrat opponent is running ads in both the Maple Leaf and Geauga Times Courier.
For our freedoms, our paychecks, and our families, we cannot afford to fall behind!
That’s why I need you support — and there are three ways you can help right now:
RSVP for One of Our Upcoming Events — I’d love to have you join us this Monday or Thursday. To RSVP, send me an email: Carolyn@CarolynBrakey.com.
Share this Post with a Friend — And invite them to join you at one of the upcoming meet-and-greets.
Make a Contribution - Yard signs, mailers, and newspaper advertising will make the difference between winning and losing on November 5th — and all of these campaign efforts rely on financial contributions from those who love freedom. CLICK HERE to make a contribution to our campaign.
Thank you for all your support. Let’s win.
For Liberty!
Carolyn Brakey
Republican Nominee,
Geauga County Commissioner
P.S. Early voting has already begun in Geauga County — and I am taking every opportunity to speak with voters.
Next week, we are hosting two meet-and-greet events with Rep. Steve Demetriou in Bainbridge and Rep. Sarah Arthur Fowler in Claridon, on Monday and Thursday from 5pm - 7pm.
To RSVP, send me an email Carolyn@CarolynBrakey.com.
I hope to see you there — and I also hope you are making your plan to vote.
Whether you vote early or on Election Day, November 5th, please make your voice heard to defend our freedoms, our paychecks, and our families.
