Newsletter #24:
"76 Days"
"76 Days"
DATE: August 21, 2024
Friend —
In these final weeks of summer, only 76 days remain until Election Day.
With so much at stake — our freedoms, our paychecks, and our families — now is the time for Republicans to unify around our candidates up and down the ballot.
We must focus on winning the battle for our future this November 5.
That’s why, even as I campaign each day to serve as your Geauga County Commissioner, I am also proud to support GOP candidates up and down our ballot — including Bernie Moreno, our Republican nominee for the United States Senate.
At a recent event hosted by the Western Reserve Women's Republican Club, I enjoyed hearing Bernie’s America First message, including a call to end foreign aid and keep our money here at home.
As the great Dr. Ron Paul once described it:
“Foreign aid is taking money from
poor people in a rich country, and
giving it to rich people in a poor county.”
We have real needs here in America, Ohio, and Geauga County.
It is shameful knowing that Washington politicians are racking up debt on the American people to spend money propping up and enriching foreign oligarchs.
Bernie Moreno will lead the charge in the U.S. Senate to end this corrupt and wasteful use of taxpayer money — and I stand behind him.
Carolyn and her husband, Matt, meet with Republican U.S. Senate nominee, Bernie Moreno, during an event hosted by the Western Reserve Women's Republican Club.
As I write this, Republicans must unify and focus for the 76 days ahead.
Unfortunately, the Geauga GOP has been recently distracted with internal disagreements and discord.
As our Geauga GOP Chair, Nancy McArthur, steps aside to make way for new leadership, I thank her for years of dedicated service to local Republicans. As she stated in her resignation letter:
“[W]e must focus primarily on the success of
our Republican ticket, from the top to the bottom.”
I could not agree more.
And that is why I will be standing with our local Republicans at the Great Geauga County Fair — spending 5 straight days meeting voters — from Thursday, August 29 through Monday, September 2.
The fair is always a special time of year. As far as its ability to bring our community together, there is nothing quite like it.
I hope you will take a moment to stop by and say, “Hello!”

With Election Day fast approaching, we are beginning to spend resources on local advertising — so thank you to everyone who has donated so far!
(And if you haven’t donated yet — or you are ready to give again — CLICK HERE to chip in and support our campaign efforts for the last 76 days.)
Featured below is our first paid advertisement of the general election.
This will be published in tomorrow’s “Barns, Farms, & Fair” special section of the Geauga Maple Leaf, encouraging voters to come meet with me at the Great Geauga County Fair.
Check it out — and let me know what you think.
Time is running short.
With only 76 days until the November Election, we must unify behind all our Republican candidates — and I also need your help.
To share our message, we need the funds to reach voters through mailboxes, local newspapers, and over social media.
As seen with our ad in tomorrow’s Maple Leaf, our campaign is starting to spend our resources between now and November 5.
Even a $25 contribution sends a message that you believe in a free Geauga County, where we:
Keep the money we earn,
Make our own personal decisions, and
Take responsibility for ourselves, our families, and our communities.

Thank you for your support on this people-powered campaign.
For Liberty!
Carolyn Brakey
Republican Nominee,
Geauga County Commissioner
P.S. With only 76 days until Election Day, we must unify behind Republican candidates and focus on efforts to win the battle for our future on November 5.
That is why I am campaigning across the county, standing in support of other GOP candidates — like Bernie Moreno for U.S. Senate — and looking forward to greeting voters as the upcoming Great Geauga County Fair.
Our freedoms, paychecks, and families are at stake on November 5 — and I need your help to deliver our message to voters.
To win, please make a contribution of $100, $50, $25 or any amount you can afford to help us defend freedom, protect paychecks, and defeat dysfunction.
