Forty-two.
In The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, this is the answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything.
For me, 42 will soon be the answer to a much simpler question:
“How old are you, Carolyn?”
Curiously enough, I’m turning 42 on a day comprised only of 4s and 2s (2/4/24) — exactly one month from today.
And while I’ve been busy on the campaign trail meeting the voters of Geauga County, my husband and our twins have been busy organizing a February 4 celebration.
We’d like to cordially invite you to join other family, friends, and supporters for our Brakey Birthday Bash. I would be honored if you would attend.
We need all RSVPs in by January 24 — just 20 days away.

Of course, there will be cake — and there will also be heavy hors d’oeuvres. Nobody will leave hungry.
Since we are in the thick of campaign season, we are asking friends to make a donation to support our campaign efforts for Geauga County Commissioner.
The suggested donation to help cover our event costs is $42 for adults. Children can attend for free. And if you have the capacity to give a larger gift…
… $350 would fund one front-page advertisement in a local newspaper.
… $1,000 would fund 200 eye-catching yard signs.
…. $5,000 would fund a direct-mail postcard campaign to voters.
Whatever amount you can give to support our campaign efforts is greatly appreciated!
This will be a resource-intensive campaign for good reason. Most observers agree that, of all the decisions on the ballot this March, this race will have the largest impact on the trajectory of Geauga County.
While financial support is critical for the success of this campaign, what I want most of all is just to see you at our Brakey Birthday Bash.
